I'd buy just about anything Dan releases at this point . . . particularly if it's constructed of SR77.

+1.
No doubts.

...Plus I don't consider sharpening a knife a "modification" to the knife, especially not the way you sharpen knives. Some people might think otherwise, however.

I went to a gun and knife show many years ago. The "collectors" did not value any knife that had ever been sharpened as much as one that had not. I was trading a Case Bowie in really good shape for a CS kukri. Because I had sharpened it, I had to pay more in difference. Also, I have noticed on evilbay that "Never sharpened" is a selling point. To me, this is stupid, unless the knife was poorly sharpened or had a damaged finish. It seems to hold true, though, even among Busse collectors, that an unsharpened one is more valuable.

A big <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> from me. I prefer uncoated and convexed blades on any knife. In my opinion, unless I am going swimming in the ocean with my knife, I don't need a coated blade. They scuff easier and the coating creates blade drag. If you take care of your knives the coating really offers no benefit.

I would pay more for a CE blade.
I hate the coating but always feel bad destroying the logo. With the CE it is right on the steel and it looks great. I did not think i liked any of the Busse's with lines on the blade until I saw Ted's fantastic Hammertime photos.
If the hammer handles like it looks it may have bumped the PBF as my Busse fighter desire.

S7 is tool steel not carbon steel. It has a small amount of chromium and is much more stainproof than SR101.

I love collectors ,because of them I can order a knife to try out and if I don't like it I can sell it and get my money back.

I'm curious to know how much the coating adds to the price? Personally, I'd prefer the blade to be coated cause I'm going to reprofile the edge anyway. However, if there's a significant savings by going uncoated then I'll take that as well and go with a rudimentary edge that I can reprofile.

I would also love a LE with the convex edge.

Check out the photo Ted took of the CE logo on the Hammertime thread. Or if Ted your reading this you could pot it again here so people see how awesome that logo looks on the grey unaltered INFI?
