I've got one of those sheaths for my Yard Guard. It fits fine. And the pouch on the front holds my multitool just fine, too.

And welcome to the Yard!

Here's some pics I just snapped. I did not modify the liner at all. The hook kinda just snaps over it. The sheaths are almost identical to Justin's, but the retention strap is a little lower(better).

This is the 10" sheath and the 6" sheath compared with respective knives.

Welcome to the Yard, DesertDog.

Congrats on your 5th little one.

Sounds like the nylon SYKCO sheath might just be your best bet, I don't have one myself, but these guys know their sheaths and what works.

Thanks, Rainwalker! Hey, I see your profile shows you're in Middle Tennessee! Give it my regards! I lived there about 1995-98; last I saw of it, we were still digging out from under the Nashville tornadoes of April 16, '98 (an event that really drove home for me the need for emergency preparedness! Nothing like being without electricity for 3 days to do that for you!)

By the way, is "SYKCO" pronounced "Psycho" or "Sicko"? Inquiring minds want to know!

According to the Big Dog himself, Dan Busse, it is pronounced psycho !
They did not make the Chef's model for the movie, though.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Welcome, and congrats on the new born! I don't know, I just call it Scrap Yard; SYKCO is just and acronym for the lazy ones here.

Don't know if you have a bladeforums account, but here is a post about some Busse knives (about the same size as the YG) and Spec-Ops sheath. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=552732

Wow, is great news that the 6" sheath works. I just assumed it would not fit.

Great question. I just always said the whole words in my head, never thought about pronouncing it as an acronym. I am interested in what the yard says... (If not already determined, I vote psycho)

Update: apparently I need to type faster or wait longer...

I remember the Tornadoes very well!!! What an interesting day that was... I work downtown, but my wife begged me to stay home that day and I gave in. Later I got a call from a co-worker wanting to know where I was. I explained to him that my wife had a gut feeling about the bad weather. He replied, "Your Crazy Tornadoes Never Hit Big Cities"... one hour later he called back from the basement of the building wanting to know how she knew. I also watched a funnel cloud go right over my house that day. What a wild day.

Your right nothing like a tornado to make you think about being prepared.

As far as the SYKCO pronunciation... Psycho sounds good to me.
