I would certainly support the B.O.L.O.S. campaign for a BOLO blade. My ideal would be 10.5 inch blade weighing in at 2lb....slightly larger and heavier than the Enterek pictured above but not so big you would want to strap it to your backpack.

GEOMETRY! THAT is what cuts. if a knife has the proper geometry AND a recurve I think it may have an advantage in cutting than a straight edge. the YH/YG is a very thick blade with a sabre grind. it's not the best cutter no matter what shape you make the knife. it is one heck o f a prybar and heavy use knife though.

I have an Entrek Destroyer, a small 8" blade bolo. It chops poorly compared to the Chopweiler, but I think it is the edge geometry. My old CS MTC Kukri, 1/8" thick 1095 (pre Carbon V) chops well, and it is definitely a recurve as are all kukris and most bolos. When I say bolo, I mean bigger than the DF, like 12" to 14" blade, but not too thick, maybe 1/8" to 3/16". Something not too heavy to swing with speed.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I sold my YG and YH to finance my new Busse. The new owners seem pleased. I had them both hair flinging sharp, but for some reason my CT chopped better.

I thought the Hooker chopped really well ,even better than my DFCG but I never tried them out head to head. I also worked the edge on the hooker. My Hooker buyer was also very pleased but what does that make Vic and I?

I would still think the Hook would be a better chopper.
That's why parangs and bolos work. Especially well designed parangs.

Well, true enough, but then again, I would really like to find out for myself.
I wish I had gotten my hook to test but it never came.

I want a S7 Scrapyard crusader sword.
I am getting more religious in my old age so the idea of a sword that is also a cross appeals to me. I am also a bit spiritual about my blades.
How big is the RatDaddy anyway?
