My only use for a swarden type blade is compact emergency kits. For that I want a compact, easy to store blade that holds a good edge and is as tough as possible. So make one out any of the main Busse Kin steels. Yes, the Yard’s 154CM is tough, for 154CM. It’s tough for a stainless. But it’s not tough compared to SR77. Am I likely to stress a small knife like that enough no need SR77 toughness? Probably not. But you never can tell.
If I wanted a swarden for the equivalent of a folder, for light duty work, 154CM would be just fine. If I was working or playing in salt water, I’d go with 154CM. At present it doesn’t serve my needs.
