My only use for a swarden type blade is compact emergency kits. For that I want a compact, easy to store blade that holds a good edge and is as tough as possible. So make one out any of the main Busse Kin steels. Yes, the Yard’s 154CM is tough, for 154CM. It’s tough for a stainless. But it’s not tough compared to SR77. Am I likely to stress a small knife like that enough no need SR77 toughness? Probably not. But you never can tell.

If I wanted a swarden for the equivalent of a folder, for light duty work, 154CM would be just fine. If I was working or playing in salt water, I’d go with 154CM. At present it doesn’t serve my needs.

It can't hurt to see what they come up with though. These guys are good, they might create something fantastic.

I was bored with S7 anyway. It is a great steel for choppers but I have the best S7 knife already with the DFLE. I am really looking forward to the Bird Dog.
