Hi Folks,

Does anyone know of a manufacturer of Cordura knife sheaths that will fit the wider blade knives like the ASH or Sarsquatch? Spec-Ops sheaths max out at 1.75" width, so they won't work.

Thanks,
Dogbert

The Cordura sheaths sold at the Scrap Yard Knife store will fit wider blades. The 6" one will actually fit the ASH-1 and even the Sarsquatch.

The Spec-Ops brand can be made to work, but it takes some Modding. Especially for the CG ASH-1's. I did a Mod for a fellow forum member, and it was quite a job to make that Thick CG blade work, but after some trial and error I was finally able to make it work for the wide .32 blade.

The Spec ops sheaths are definitly a step up in design from the yard sheaths.
I especially like the slit loop. It is such a clever idea I am surprised it took so long to think of it. One thing i do like about the Yards cordura sheaths is they are fitted to the knives. The one that came with my SH-E is the perfect size.

For a knife as nice as an ASH I would recommend a custom leather sheath like the one Rainwalker made for my DFLE. You can get away with cordura on a CG model but for an LE it should be leather.

Hi Unsub,

I agree that good leather is the best sheath for a great knife. My interest in Cordura sheaths is that it is also nice to have a rugged knife sheath that you can use for those times when you need knife protection and durability when the sheath will be scuffed, scraped and abused like in a car trunk or truck storage box. I would rather naturally age my Rainwaker and Chuddy Bear sheaths as I wear them.

Thanks,
Dogbert
