Magnum is the resident expert hood stabber while Andy is the expert hood chopper. This is a very talented and highly specialized group. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I'm surpised to see no one try and use a SYK to tear through an old car hood, seeing as how these are very tough knives and much better than the Cold Steel tanto which are supposedly capable of this very test without damaging the blade.
If you haven't seen my hood video, click my sig for the link to my YouTube videos. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I was going to point out that BRKT reference as well. As to SR77 through sheet metal, I gather the edge would not hold long through repeated blows against a perpendicular surface. I find myself constantly having to run the YH across 600-1500 grit sandpaper to maintain the edge.

yeah, sr77 would dull up a bit or maybe even have an edge roll or the like... but it wouldn't be anything you couldn't take out easily with a strop.
adam: sounds like swamprats may better suit you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Tolly, is that a double-bevel I see on the Hultafors or does it just look like that from the photo?
