I'm new, so excuss me if this has been discussed to death. The most impressive wilderness living documentary DVD I've ever seen is "Alone In the Wilderness" It's available from PBS and is a great inspiration for everyone (especially for us old farts)

I agree, Dogbert. It is an amazing story. The book has some additional detail that's worthwhile as well.

Is that the guy who went to live in Alaska? I have seen it a while ago and loved it. You could do that an hour and a half drive from where I live now though.

Hi Unsub,

Yup, he was in his fifties when he moved to the Alaska wilderness. An amazingly capable man.
