Well guys it seems one of the puppies passed today. It was the runt of the litter. It was the pup i had to save from drowning in his own fluid when he was born.

Well it turns out he had a condition that effects small breed dogs. I forgot what is called at the moment but its when fluid build up around the brain. It caused his head to become very large and it was effecting his movement. He could only take a few steps then would fall over.

We ended up talking him to the vet yesterday and they gave him some meds to take to hopefully drain the fluid and re-leave the pressure from his brain. He was doing very well till earlier this morning.

I woke up to him crying really loud. When i went up the living room to check on him his whole body was tensed up and his eyes where blood shot red and he was gasping for air.

He ended up having a seizure. Buy the time i got to the vet it was already to late for him. The vet said there was really nothing they could do for him. He was basically trying to die and couldn't.

I had already planned to put him down if anything like that happend. I couldn't stand to see him suffer like that. The vet recommended that we put him down so thats what i had them do.

I just got done barring him. One of the saddest and hardest things i have ever had to do. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

My condolences! That is very emotionally draining isn't it. I hope all the other pups are doing well and Momma is feeling better. I bet some photos of playing pups would make me feel better anyway? Spend some time frolicing with the litter and you should feel better soon.

have the rest opened their eyes yet?

Yes they are 4 weeks old now. They are up and running around. They are very healthy and big pups. They are even barking and growling at one another. i think i will start them on some sort of puppy mash or canned food in a week or 2. they should be ready to go to a new home in about 4 more weeks.

Unsub ill get some pics up asap. My digi cam is messing up right now so once i get it squared away ill post pics.

There mom seems to be doing ok. She seen me taking him out side to the car and tried to follow me.

When i got home she came right up to me. Ill keep an eye on her to see if her mood changes or if she stops eating but things look good so far.

I'm sorry to hear that. Must have been pretty harsh, but glad to hear the other pups are doing great.

HI Nick,
Very sorry to hear that the Little One didn't make it.

It must be even sadder for you since you tried so hard during delivery to save him and then favoring him and nursing him along this far. A true testament to your love and skills in things that matter.
My heart goes out to you and I rejoice in the fact that the others are all doing so well and that things are now settled in to a pattern with them and you will not have to make that decision to put down the Little One that you grew so fond of.
It is good that he went on his own and is free from his torment.
Thanks to you for all the love he enjoyed. You are a great man Nick.
You deal with more than I know I could and you always stay on top.

God bless,

Peace,
Dave.
