This is the leather sheat that I received from a friend of mine.

I usually use Kydex sheats that I made by myself, but this one is special.

Thank you, Alessio !!

It's a 3,5 mm thick cow hide.

With some crocodile - looking effect.

Looks fantastic ,it reminds me of the sheath Jeff made to match Vic's ASH.

I think kydex is inappropriate for knives as big as the DF and certainly does not go with a knife with the class of the DFLE.

I have used my kydex sheat for the DFLE attached to my backpack many times, and it makes a REAL good job. Easy to wash, easy to dry. When there is no possibility to carefully clean and oil the knife for more than one day, I prefer kydex.

Insert your dirt knife in the leather sheat once, and you have to do a hard work to clean it .

I don't like the yards DF kydex ,it is an ugly blade scratching thumb buster.
I have had both Yard DF sheaths and a Rainwalker leather sheath. If you want a easy to maintain sheath the nylon one is much better. If you wore tyhe kydex sheath on your clothing and fell on it you would hurt yourself a lot worse than the nylon or leather. It is also noisy and it bit my thumb(I am mostly pissed about the thumb). Anything bigger than a CampTramp should not be kydex, but good kydex is especially suited to small neck knives.
