There are so many good and disparate threads on all the cool things we have done to our Scrapyard and Bussekin knives I thought it might make sense to try to keep them in one semi-permanent thread. Here is a link to my photo of my polished SH-E reflecting my "Wanted" poster. http://www.flickr.com/photos/28973838@N07/2706515224/in/photostream/Here is one of my favourite mods by modmaster Ban. ![[Linked Image from img2.putfile.com]](http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/7/19812432549.jpg) Close up of the insane tip. ![[Linked Image from img2.putfile.com]](http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/7/19812432512.jpg)

OK guys lets post some mods.
I spent about 10 hours polishing my DesertJack last night and am almost done 1 side. It is noticeably harder to work with than INFI and the polished metal seems a bit brighter. When I got it from a nice fellow Dog it had been used hard and had some big scratches that needed to be ground out with my dremel and 60 grit disks. After that I hand polished it totally flat with more 60 grit paper. Then I started going up in grits. Everytime you change grits and sand it flat you see a bunch of scratches that need to be polished out. I would use the dremel to help get the scratches and then finish it flat again by hand. It is hard work but Ib really enjoy it.
When i got to about a 240 grit the hamon just POPPED out all of a sudden. It looks great and is in the perfect spot. I have seen an M6 where the hamon did not include the tip so it was a really nice bonus. Then at about a 400 grit when it is getting a decent mirror polish it disappears again and is barely visible. I should be able to bring it out nicely when I am done though. I am leaving the flats the dimpled rough forged finish with a very sharp Japanese finish with a visible hamon on the bevel. I should have some decent photos of one side today and some better ones of the SH-E as well.
I plan on doing a 3 knife set all users transformed into safe queens with SH-E DesertJack and SS4 all with matching polishes and pouch style sheaths They all have similar handles and I have all 3 Bussekin companies represented with Busse the biggest knife then a mid sized Rat and a small Scrapyard. They are also some of the better models each company has to offer.
I figure I have spent abut 65 hours so far and i am about half done not counting the sheaths. My buddy Branson from CGN has decided to do the sheaths. I considered Jeff because he did such an amazing job on my DFLE sheath but I wanted this to all be amateur labour.

It's a small start but a nice one mags. The Muppy is already a great penatrator so I bet the P tip makes it even better. It sure looks good.
Come on guys we have 15 different mod threads.

If it will help i have a very nice panga tramontonia with an 18 (or possibly 22 inch but most likely 18)inch blade I would send you if it will help save my languishing thread? Of all the tramontonias it is the best looking and it wold make a great starter for a HD mod.
The best restaurant in town has tramontonia steak knives.
I have found Sr101 is appreciably harder to polish than INFI especially the hard parts. It takes a nice deep polish though.
I decided to move the grinder out of my garage because it makes to much of a mess. I think i should take some photos of the polishing process and the tools and grinders etc tomorrow.

In the future, I plan to do a full convex edge on my Skinny ASH-1. Just think how evil that would be.

I'm working on stripping and convexing the edge on my Skinny ASH-1 now. It will not be a pretty satin version, but more like Busse's CE. Dimpled INFI doesn't bother me. Boy is this thing going to be sharp, in a cutting competition kind of way. I'll post pics when I'm done.

Vic that thing looks sharp even in pics. Great job. I am sort of partial to the dimples, wouldnt hurt my feelings if they were on all of them.
