So, I just got my first Swamp Rat in the mail yesterday, an HCLE. As soon as I saw it, I lked it, but thought it needed some work done. What do you guys think?

It's my first try at this, but I thnk it looks good. Now I just have to take it into the woods with me, and get it a little dirty. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Looks great, I wouldn't have guessed it was your first lanyard!

That is a great lanyard ,you won't be dropping the HCLE anytime soon but you need some better 550 cord. The kind with 2 cords ,one inside each other is the best.
PM me and I will mail you some.

That sheath is rather nice as well. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Nice HCLE, tyger. Those may be collectibles one day. No one seems to know whether there will be more 154CM knives from the swamp or yard or not.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Thanks guys! I have done square lanyards before, but nothing like this.

Learning to do a D-guard and stopper knots was new, as was doing the entire thing as a single piece of work. I decided to dig around and found a couple old wooden beads and threw them on, along with a chinese coin I had from one of my previous travels.

I've been buying books on how to do knots, and getting better at it. I won't say that I'm like that guy StormDrane (He's scary talented!), but I'm definitely better than I was a couple months ago.
