I received my Bird Dog a while back and it needs some pants so it can get outside a little more often. Check this thread over at bladeforums (apologies for forum-linking): http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=576455

Many of you may be familiar with the work of Martin Swinkels, he is a relatively new sheathmaker that specializes in kydex-lined, leather sheaths. He posts his work regularly on Rat Chat but this is the first Dog he has worked on. The quality of his work is impeccable and he is very easy to collaborate with. The BD will be with him for a little bit longer if anyone wants him to model a sheath on it. The kydex has a drain hole and is secured by the leather which is seemingly melted over the liner with a minimal welt. The whole package is very compact and easy to use. I am very happy with the sheath he made for my HRLM and look forward to getting this combo back from him.

And of course, no slight intended towards the regular sheath-makers here in the Yard, they do beautiful work as well. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

That's an interesting sheath. Very traditional looking. I like the idea of the kydex liner.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Nice blend of old and new technology....cool Lapplander style looks as well...suprised to hear your knife on this style had a poor edge....the blade shape looks like it would be a "razor" straight from the off.

Nice form fitting sheath. I've been thinking brown would go nice with those handles, but the black looks good as well.
