I sprung for one this morning, and Eric shipped it out within like five minutes. I got to fondle a bunch of the HCs at blade and I really liked them, but I picked up a Mud Puppy instead. I'm glad I finally scored one!

Should be a nice little slicer.

I've been hoping that they would be released for general sale. I've read mostly good comments about the knife from you folks so I ordered one.

I've already got my three, and I promised myself no more large buys until next month when I bought that AK47 from Mike last week.

I have an HC 3.5 myself. It sees daily use as my primary EDC, would have preferred a contoured handle, edge does not hold as well as I had expected. All in all a decent buy.

3 small buys does not really count Jim

I am surprised to hear you find the edge does not hold up well Adam?
I just got my HCLE nice and sharp so I have not had much time to test it but the steel is very hard and was a bear to sharpen which usually means it will hold a good edge.

I love the G10 handles on the HCLE I just wish they made a 4 inch HCLE to match.
They are a bit heavy though. It makes a better small belt or hunting knife than a EDC if you are weight concious.

I already have mine. I wonder what number they are up to now... I was on the pre-order list and mine is 374 (I think)

I got my pre-order in fairly quickly and was fortunate enough to receive 31, 32, and 33.

I strip and cut a lot of 12-14 AWG copper, remove cementious residue off floors and walls, score and cut cardboard boxes and perform a host of other core duties around our construction sites. The spine of the HCSE is used as an impromptu chisel/pryer, the edge as a light digger, plastic and iron pipe engraver and a quick marker along wood members and CMU blocks. Building modern homes with a knife as a primary tool can really put the blade through some fairly brutal, yet mundane tasks. The edge is usually toast by the end of two typical days, light working conditions extend that time to about three days. It is why I picked up the Peace Maker, to see how 3V will hold up on the job.

I haven't been blown away by 3V, maybe you'll do better than I. In the limited time I've played with it, it seems a lot like ATS34, which is really a good thing. But it's not unobtanium either
