My cousin works up at Cabela's and he said not only do they allow you to carry a knife, they encourage all of the outfitters(employees)to carry their favorite knife. He said that one of the older guys was an ex-marine and he carried a big survival knife on his belt and it was OK.How cool is that?Imagine being able to carry your fav blade without discrimination!Instead of women and small children running away in fear when you open your swiss army knife to remove a hang nail..GASP!

My entire working life is spent in a corporate data center, and we have much the same latitude. Not only do I have a selection of knives (usually in the laptop bag, with perhaps a folder on my person), but I'm also always carrying whatever handgun I chose for concealed carry that day. Very stressful days often see myself and several coworkers going to the local range for some target practice during lunch break. I know I'm lucky, though. I realize that most people don't work in such an informal environment.

But meatcutter you actually use your knives at work every day. I will always be gratefull for the lessons learned when I used to cut meat. The only drawback and I know you can relate, every family dinner or cookout when a turkey need carving or the roast needs slicing everybodys looking for you.

That sounds great. I get concerned about the strange looks I might get pulling out even a small folder at my work.

Also, building contractors working any of our projects are free to carry any sized cutting tool they wish to on the jobsite, regardless of trade.
