My G22 Glock in .40 S&W, and my DFLE. I should look dangerous enough to make most folks want to leave me alone! And both weapons will get the job done!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

My G17, loaded with Winchester Ranger 127gr.+P+ and a Skinny ASH.
How is your G22 treating you these days Klink <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Hey Speicher - good to hear from you again!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I am really happy with the G22, as well as my S&W 411. I was able to acquire a fair amount of Winchester Ranger ammo for them, along with some other practice ammo. I really like the extra punch that the .40 has over the 9mm.
How's everything with you? I tried sending you a Christmas card but it was returned - moved? Anyway, I hope you show up here a lot more - keep in touch! And I STILL like your avatar! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Tom

I'm doing well Tom, thanks...just very busy, and no, I didnt move, thats weird...got returned?

I smell a caliber war <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> .40, 45ACP, .357SIG, 9mm...are all fine calibers and each one has a certain amount of pros & cons...what I like about the 9mm, is its cost/availability and when using modern JHP'S (or self defense loads) it possesses teriffic penetration & expansion. There lies the truest form of the Ford vs. Chevy debate <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> more penetration vs. more kinetic energy...faster vs. slower...heavier vs. lighter <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> I say shot placement over caliber every time, they will all do their job if we do ours <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Its good to be here chating in the yard...its been too long.

Very well said.

S6 or Skinny ASH,
Walter P38 (yes, an old un' but was produced as the Luger '08 was too expensive to fit out the troops! My Dad used to own an Artillery Luger ~ that was a lovely pistol!

Handgun-
My most often concealed carry gun is my Glock 19C (Trijicon tritium night-sights, LW extended mag release, LW extended slide lock, custom slide cover plate, Scherer 3.5lb trigger connector, 2x 15rd mags w/ Cor-Bon +p 115gr JHP). If I'm taking one single handgun, that's the one. *If I get 2 then I want my trusty 1911*

Knife-
Swamp Rat Camp Tramp - without hesitation.

Caveat-
Always in my truck is my Kel-Tec Sub-2000. It is a folding 9mm carbine that shares mags with my Glock and has 5x 33rd mags stowed with it. This scenario is 'urban adventure', and this carbine is never far from me during my daily adventure.

I forgot about the KT Sub2000!!! I have read great reviews on this piece. I almost broke down and bought one once... You mind giving a range report on this?

Oh and I didnt mean to start a caliber war... Whatever you carry, as long as you are proficient with it, then its right for you! Thats what matters.

Tons of great responses fellas. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I dont know, the more I think about it and the preface of the original ? posed, Im thinking that a smaller fixed blade would be more ideal in the urban jungle... I think I might rather take my Busse SD as opposed to the S6 for urbanism (new word). The S6 for combat/wilderness/outdoors/etc...

But I am sticking to my G26. Nothing beats it in the sub world, IMO. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

if you could only have one knife and one pistol to take with you on your adventure in the urban environment, which would you carry and why?

for me, i would take my Scrapper 6 and my Glock26. the G26 is the best sub that glock makes IMO, because the 9x19mm ammo can be found virtually anywhere and the S6, well it speaks for itself. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I would go with the DogFather LE and my Baby Eagle 9mm, it is the best feeling auto I have ever shot anyway that 500 is to heavy to heft around althoug it only takes 1 to do the job severaal times over

Dan

The review you posted above is good, as are both of the following -

http://www.mouseguns.com/sub2000/sub2000.htm

http://www.gunblast.com/Kel-Tec_Sub2000.htm

I'm not sure that my own range report can provide any info or insight not covered in either of those articles, but here are a few thouhts:

The Sub-2000 is a great compromise of many carbine design features, and those features add up to make it a great lightweight companion/extension to almost any 9mm/.40S&W. It is robustly built, but not overbuilt. It isn't made to be a primary defense platform like an AK or AR, but is wonderful to have for extending the useful range of it's handgun chamberings to 100yds or more, depending on the shooter. It is lightweight (4lbs) and very compact (16 inches folded, 29.5 inches unfolded). In my experience (3 yrs ownership, approx 4000 rounds fired) it is robust and has been very reliable. If there is a better 'carry it everywhere in the vechile' companion firearm for a pistol (that shares mags, even), I haven't found it. They are reasonably priced, and quite readily available.

And to bring this back to the subject of knives - I keep my Dumpster Mutt LE stowed with the Sub-2000. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
