That's where water falls out of the sky, right? It's been a long time since we've seen any of that here; under the baked dry grass, my yard looks a lot like cracked adobe. I finally watered my trees and bushes a couple weeks ago. I ran the water from 6 PM to 2:30 AM and the ground was still thirsty. The only reason I've got any green left is because weeds are hardier than grass.
