HSGI....HIGH SPEED GEAR INC. ...............good stuff.

i got a nice drop leg get-up from them today that they call the
"EOD DROP LEG POUCH".

i saw someone post pics of their on the wilderness & survival forum over at BF and had to get one.i am going to use it for hunting.i bow hunt from the ground and like the idea of being able to get to certain items quickly and quietly.

here's the front.the two mag pouches on the laft and right are removable MOLLE pouches and fit a surfire 6P or my emerson cqc-14 perfectly and they are pretty adjustable to fit bigger or smaller items.you can also see that i have a HRLM sticking out of the top.their is a velcro loop system to attach a knife and having the knife stick out the top like this seems so convenient.

here it is opened.i just filled it with a bunch of crap to give you an idea.it has a total of 8 internal pockets/slots and 8 elastic straps/gear keepers.

here's the other side.as you can see it has pocket slots and elastic straps on both sides.

here's a look at it empty.

from the right with emerson

backside

this is a plastic pouch for papers or maps that slides right one of the larger, long pockets in the pouch.

[Linked Image from i234.photobucket.com]

HSGI also make the best hats.i only need two more colors and i'll have'em all.i love these things, super quality.

HSGI logo on the other

the pouch is just under $100.00 and the hats are $18.00.

i will use it for hunting but this thing will be great for all kinds of different uses and HSGI makes supreme quality gear, you should feel the heavy duty-ness of this thing.they have top notch customer service,i once spent over an hour on the phone with them just shootin the breeze and i got this 3 days after i ordered it.

HSGI makes some good quality stuff. They ship out pretty fast as well. The only product that I didn't like from them was a drop leg holster that I ordered for my Sig 229. The fit wasn't great at all. I think they sent me one for the Sig 226 instead.

i really cant think of a tactical nylon company i havnt had experience with except for maybe TAG or BLACKWATER GEAR who i consider to just be rip-offs.

as far as heavy duty goes i would recommend HSGI and BATTLE LAB over eagle or even kifaru.while they have other strong points these are just use a bit more heavy duty material like the webbing and the zippers.you cant go wrong with any of them though.

HSGI & BATTLE LAB are kind of well kept secrets amongst some people.to top it all off they are reasonably priced too and have no waiting time on delivery.

northern1, I'm not sure what you do, but if you are serious about your gear, get some TAG stuff, they area great company. If anything, ANYTHING EVER happens to any of thier gear, doesn't matter if you bought it or not, they will fix, or more likely replace it, no charge.

Great people, amazing gear

i dont doubt for a second they are good.they are just one of the brands i havnt gotten to personally get my hands on yet.i also really want to check out some of TAG GEAR's clothing and packs.

while some is a little bit better than others i think all the main tactical nylon companies make reliable stuff.while i've heard of some giving people a hard time about warranties it seems at least a good bunch of them will take care of their customers.

i wish they would all use the same shade of coyote tan.you never know what your getting, some a light, some are dark.

I have had my eye on the HSGI suspenders for a while now. If the trucker ones I ordered don't work out i am going to break down and order a pair. I priobably should have just ordered the HSGI's first and then I would not have spent just as much cash on the 3 pairs of crappy ones. The trucker ones from Duluth trading look cool though because they attach at the sides rather than the back and have good
quality clips.

For BDU's etc I like Propper. They are kind of half way between the high end stuff like eagle and Tag and the made in china cheapies. I have a black BDU top I use on the bike and it is awesome. I also really like the old Canadian issue green pants.
I especially like the 70's era canadian gear from when they still used natural materials like Canvas, leather and especially wool as it wears a 100% better than synthetics.

A lot of times a good combo of military issue and modern high quality outdoors gear is cheaper and better or at least as good as the best quality tactical gear.

I also have to say thanks to all the reservists because now you can get Canadian army gear in 3XXXL <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> When I worked at the surplus store we got a box of the helicopter pilots nomex jumpsuits and they were all 48 waists or bigger. No wonder they are having so much trouble with the sea kings it's a wonder they can lift off.
