Guys, just a friendly reminder that there isn't a need to call folks names.

Silva vs Cote is a joke, he could easily challenge for the LHW belt if he hadnt so graciously reserved that for his team mate Machida, who imo is much more deserving of a title shot than chuck or rashad.

I agree, I would love to see if Silva could hold both belts. I can't stand Machida's style. His fight against Tito was so boring. The guy has talent and his style works for him, but it bores me to tears.

A little off topic here but I prefered the UFC when it first started out. Back then they were in general each experts in one specific fighting style so you had a Sumo V's a Kung Fu guy or a Thai Boxer V's a Jiu-Jitsu guy. After growing up as a kid watching all the the tacky chuck norris, Bruce lee flicks etc I actually got answers to the questions I used to ask like " Dad....would a karate man be able to beat a boxer?".Today they are all MMA experts so each match gets to be much the same each time, couple of minutes dancin round then the rest of the bout cuddling on the floor !!!!

I really enjoyed that fight, it was really tentative and had some really exciting moments when Tito got dropped by a knee and when Machida almost triangled. However I digress, Machida's not like those boring [censored] wrestlers who just 'lay and pray' and ride out a decision, catering to the flawed scoring system, Machida's always looking to finish (KO'ed Rich Franklin, Nakamura, Sokojou, ect) but always picks his shots carefully. I'd rather watch a technician like Machida than some sloppy brawlers.

Anyway, I'd pick him as a favorite over any 205lber, I'd like to see him fight Shogun, if his knee ever recovers. But he probably wont get a title shot anytime soon cause the UFC is in the head. I mean, Mir beats Lesnar (a guy with 1 pro fight) and gets to challenge for the intern belt, Lesnar LOOSES and gets to challenge for the "actual" belt. And thats not even whats really messed up, aside from the fact that neither of these guys deserve a title shot (ahem WERDUM) why the hell arent Nog and Coture fighting to unify? UFC is all about $ and has no regard for the integrity of the sport.

Maybe I need to watch more Machida fights, I agree that Lesner does not deserve a shot at the title. I had forgotten that Couture was the title holder when I said I wanted to see them fight. I think Lesner has raw talent, but is 3-4 fights away from deserving a shot.

Also, it was very sad to read about Tanner. I was a big fan of his, even though he seemed to be past his prime. Such a shame.
