I just found out that I might get a chance to leave Ft Knox and go to Afghan next year!!! That is the mission I have been wanting. A Tan Yard would be a perfect knife your just that mission. I have to work late that day but I will try like hell to get this as I have a feeling that it will be very much needed. I LOVE tan knives and have a few but the YKCG would be my EDC in the sandbox.

Only problem with taking it to Afghan with you is that if you put it down, you'll never be able to find it again! LOL!
I just came back from there at the end of May, and let me tell you, you'd better get used to the dust. It's like baby powder, it's so fine; it gets everywhere. And when it blows, all you can do is pray you can find whatever kit you may drop, because it'll get covered reeeaaall fast! Of course, while it's blowing, all you can see is tan sky and land, and taste the dirt and crap from a thousand years! Have fun!

Then I hope you get to go, but take my advice, invest in a really good face scarf or balaclava that you'll be allowed to wear while in combats; trust me, it's worth whatever money you pay for it. The amount of dust you won't be coughing and hacking on is a good investment.

I have a question about the "automatic Go".
Does this mean that if you don't see anything posted here by 9:55, then you should go ahead and send your email? Or does it mean that Renee has a utility that will automatically post a "GO" thread for her at 9:55?
I wasn't sure what to do re: dog bowl #2.
Thanks.

I'm just wondering if anyone could explain to me here.
To get/ order the new knife, I must wait till 9.55 and then send the email, am I correct?
I'm new and I'm just trying to understand the rule of the game... :-)

I would start watching your computer as early as 9 though, you never know when I will say "GO"!

Yeas, Renee, please send all of us an E-mail to let us know...
Seriously though, Wiggitty, she can't do that, as then the company could be accused of favoritism towards specific customers. In a dog bowl like this, they have to remain impartial so everyone feels they are being given the same equivalent opportunity to purchase one of the knives up for sale.
What I'd suggest is that you log on, clicking the option to be remembered on the computer you're logging onto (so that it doesn't time out and log you off the site automatically), and just refresh (F5) every few minutes, just like the rest of us. Or... have someone you trust proxy one for you.

I'm pretty sure Wiggitty's post was intended as sarcasm tyger.
