My Dog Father kydex sheath just arrived today, purchased from Scrap Yard for $24.95. Hands down, much nicer than the nylon sheath that came with my DF. This sheath provides a perfect, custom fit: no play at all once sheathed, and nicely contoured to the handle to securely hold the Dog Father. Made from .090" thick kydex.

The belt attachment is made from looped, folded kydex, affixed to the sheath with screws. Extra screws are included, as is a cord to tie around the leg. The bottom of the sheath, just below the tip, is open, which will allow liquid or dirt to pass through, and make cleaning easy. I'll be wearing this on my hip next time I go hiking.

For the price, the build quality of this sheath is excellent. Obviously durable and well made. I wish something similar was sold by Scrap Yard (same goes for Busse and Swamp Rat) for all their knives. I highly recommend this to DF owners, and it is still available from the Scarp Yard company store. An awesome accessory for a truly awesome big chopper.

Nice sheath and nice review, Chasden. It looks rugged and thick. The sheath I got with my FBM looks similar. Maybe they were made by the same folks. Thanks for giving us all a good look at it with those excellent pictures.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Could the belt attachment be put on the other side for left hand?

My DF is a very new arrival, so I haven't had a chance to "break it in" ... but soon.

Yes, I think the sheath could ambidextrous.

Chasden, look closely at the design of that sheath. I have one of the small kydex Yard sheaths (no longer on the website) that fits the yard keeper and dumpster mutt knives. The design is the same as the 10" kydex sheath and I would not consider that design ambidextrous.

The sheath itself would be ambidextrous but not the belt loop. If you have skills molding kydex and could make another belt loop for it then everything else would reverse and work.

Yeah, I think you're right on that point. My bad.

NICE!!!! I am waiting on my $ and then getting my DFCG in route. Will this sheath fit the DFCG? or is it made for the DFLE?

I hope it is for the DFCG. Because thats what I got coming! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

It will fit both the DFCG and the DFLE
