I know some other people here are big fans of Ron Paul as well and I thought you would be interested to see what kind of press he is getting outside the US.http://english.aljazeera.net/news/americas/2008/09/200893194738167535.html

I found this very interesting......he does'nt get much publicity over here....his message is probably as relevant here as it is in the US....probably explains why we don't get to hear it.

And you can bet the corporate media and the two major parties like it that way. What if those unwashed masses out there woke up one day and discovered they weren't free anymore?

Dr. Paul got near zero media coverage! When he did the "Fair & Balanced" news spun him like a top. I just read an article about his "Rally for the Republic" meet. News said, "Hundreds show up for Paul rally". When in fact over 10,000 tickets were sold online. Ok sorry fir the soapbox.America needs to wake up before its too late.

15 000 people they said on Al Jazeera.
I think we need someone like Ron Paul in Canada really bad.
We have the NDP which are socialists although their original identity was the CPC a Saskatchewan party that got huge in the 60's with Tommy Douglas and invented medicare. They were not a nannystate socialist party like they are now.

Our middle of the road party is called the liberals and they have been in power a LONG time until recently. They are far worse than the NDP as far as corruption and wanting to steal our rights.

The Progressive Conservatives are the right wing and they are in power now although with a minority government which means they need one of the other 2 partys to pass any new laws. They are not terrible on gun control etc but totally in the pocket of big business and bad for stealing our rights when it comes to
patriot act type stuff.

It's a shame some have to read an "enemy" news article to find out about Ron Paul. Being a supporter of his, I knew all this, but as far as the major American sources, it never happened.

Fox media completely ignored Ron Paul which should have caused an outrage. Seems like people don't give a [censored] anymore, they'd rather watch America's next top idol or model or whatever that crap is.

Al Jazeera is not really anti American or even anti Israeli. The Israelis actually much prefer it to BBC. It is certainly more "fair and balanced" than FOX.I actually use it as one of my major sources of news because it really gives you an idea about just what is being kept from us by the North American Media.

I also like Colbert and Ron Paul is coming on the episode I am watching right now.

Mass media frustrates me. The ability of a group of people to shape public opinion and future economic and political policy simply by choosing what to present and how to present it, is a bad thing. Changing the spin on information that crosses your path is perfectly natural and human, it happens all the time. But never before has it been possible on such an enormous and anonymous scale. One of many things I'd change on my ideal world.
