Hey guys, I decided to bust out the paracord today and try a couple of new projects since I haven't messed with anything but simple lanyards in a while. Here are some pics of what I did. Please remember I am merely an amateur.

Here is a cross and a couple of survival bracelets I did with side release buckles. The bracelets were done with un-gutted cord.

Here is a four strand braid that turns into a square braid on the end with included Lobster clasp that I did for a friends new +B SG PE OHT.

Here is a lanyard with a Snake knot and Lobster clasp that I made for one of my flashlights.

Very nice; where did you find the info to make them? A specific book or a website? I wouldn't mind trying my hand at those myself!

Those are really nice !!!

I seen a guy on a website that made a really nice rifle sling by braiding the green paracord.

Great work Tolly.

I have only tinkered with one project and have seen a few that looked worth trying. I just haven't.

A couple of your patterns above are among the most appealing to me.

I was VERY sick the other day when my favorite EDC customized Benchmade 710 fell out of my pocket (unclipped) while working to help clean up my sister-in-laws yard. I didn't notice it had fallen out until dark and figured it could have been picked up and thrown in a HUGE trash pile or trash bag.

At the time, I had been wishing for highly reflective and possibly glow lanyard or similar to help find.

I would value that folder at well over $150 (to me) with the work done to it. It is a 1 of 200 M2 blade and a lot of customized handle work done to suit my needs, function, fit, etc.

I was sick. But, luckily we found it the next day with no harm to it and very little dirt.

The "almost" loss is making me really rethink possible easy to see / "Tag" type lanyards for most of my carry knives - EDC large folders or fixed carry hiking/camp knives, etc.

I am honestly NOT fond of bright colors on my knives. I like simple colors: Black, brown or green micarta, satin blades, wood tones, and similar. But, most colors I like are very hard to find if dropped in leaves, grass, woods, etc.

I know a lot of the SAR guys like glow yellow and glow orange handles, lanyards or tags on their knives. And with constant use, and rumaging through brush, I can understand the value.

I never have a hard time finding my Glow yellow handled shovels (fiberglass handles).

But, I did have a hard time finding my Tramontina machete quite a bit this last week. It just kept disappearing in brush piles.

I don't think I could ever "like" the looks of the bright colors on my knives. But, I bet that SAK is HARD to loose.

I guess there are some compromises with looks vs. loss of certain tools. In some cases, the compromise to looks might be worth considering.
