This one's performance first. I took the things I found most effective in other knives and put em together in here. Rather than thicker stock for effective chopping, this thing uses forward weight distribution and a keen edge. Grab it further back for more chopping power, 'weiler style. Also has the big heavy tip for more up front, a la BK1, SarQ, and the great khukri.

The 1080 was difficult to machine. I think I may need to anneal first next time. This was the hardest thing I've had to drill since the Tram bolo.

These O1 knives are also still waiting for heat treat.

Nice work Mag.

I am a little lost on feel for size. In the first pic, the chopper looks large. Then in the 3rd pic in your hand it looks small.

What are the specs?

--------

That Nessie shape looks really nice. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> - Assuming it fits the hand well, the blade shape and over-all design looks to be a great All-rounder. Good for skinning, bush-craft and general chore use. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Is the 3rd one in the bottom pic going to be some sort of Mini-Kephart?

.

I like it. You gonna have to start naming these blades man. My favorite so far is the nessie.

i didn't take any measurements before cutting it, just felt it out. checking now, it comes out to a 7.5" blade, 12.75" overall. 2" broad. semi convex scandi grind.

held from the back, the point is 9.25" from the knuckle of my index finger. you really feel the difference in leverage. swings like a machete. i hope this thing works out.

as for naming...maybe the magnum cleaver? well call the bottom ones the bushmag, the magmuk, and the magnum psk and necker. maybe i should just number em instead.

That looks like an awesome companion, kinda like a mix between the Santoku and a chopper. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Nice work. Blade making isn't easy. When we see a knife on the shelf it's easy to forget all the steps that go into making it and how easily it is to screw it up during any one process! - I know I didn't realize this until I had done it. It sure takes a lot of patience! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
You seem to have 'the Knack'. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

What are your plans for handles?

Looks like a longer MOD4 with a golok handle. Interesting, Magnum.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

sweet! I am looking for a nessie <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />...have been thinking about a Koster, since Dale Chadinski doesn't seem to be making them anymore <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />, which is too bad <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />. When are you planning on going into full production? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Nice blades, Mag!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I've been waiting all day to get home and see what they looked like. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> I can't see pics from that particular image hosting sight at work and it's starting to drive me nuts! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> I don't understand why they've blocked it, I hope they don't block any more. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I can't wait to see them finished. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

You aren't fooling me, Magnum. I have seen your knives for sale by Boker. Magnum. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
