Dan, I love the plan. And it allows everyone to get their hands on the goods.

Phillip, you are probably the ONLY man alive who has held a Scrap Yard Knife within 5 inches of The Big Dogs heart!

I salute your skills and courage in that endeavor!

Dan Busse... thanks! That was the nicest letter to The Yard in a long time. And the new ordering system seems to mirror Brother Jerry's system. I whole heartedly approve of the new system of offering a distinct model for a given time frame, taking orders on it and closing the door until such time as it comes back again in rotation or if it is a special or a not well received model"like that will EVER happen" you have the ability to have offered it shipped it and forget about it and move on to a new model.

Well thought out and a VERY sound approach!

I salute the new system!

So glad to hear the Patti has had pressure removed by the ever on time Renee. I am pleased as can be to hear that Renee is such a perfect fit for the yard too!

All in all it sounds like Scrap Yard is focused on the future and customer service. And most important of all you have a solid production plan in effect and that will keep The Yard well fed and as you no doubt have noticed The Yard has been growing in leaps and bounds with Pound Puppies soaring through the ranks as the blitzkrieg The Yard with new and welcome posts and contributions.

That proves that we are as always THE forum to be attending.

I love The Yard and and always will.
This home for me and my family has such deep roots it will be a part of ours lives for as long as you keep The Yard open.
The growth with new Dogs only improves The Yard and stretches the brotherhood we share into a global one.

[censored] proud to be one of The Junk Yard Dogs here, and even more proud to have and use every Scrap Yard Knife made.

Long live The Yard!!

Peace.

What will change:

1. The way we offer knives. Instead of posting that knives are available and taking orders until the inventory is depleted, we will now take orders on 1 or 2 models for approx. 4-6 weeks (depending on the model) and will then discontinue that offer. NO additional orders will be accepted until those models come back around in the model rotation.

If i remember correctly this is how swamp rat used to sell there knives. or similar. you put in an order and wait 4-6 weeks to get them. I use to want the quick gratification and put off on buying a swamp rat battle rat because of the 4 week wait and now im kicking my self everyday for it.

This is a good plan it will give you time to decide if you want to purchase and give you choises to. I have missed out on a couple of buys because of not being able to get on my computer for days to weeks d/t work. The only reason I was able to get my DF was because it didn' sell out in 30 min.

very well stated BLD. The bottom line is that Scrap Yard is going to have MORE knives available that dont sell out IMMEDIATLEY!!! How can anyone not think this is a good idea? SR77 sitting in the company store is a good idea and I dont care how they come about making sure that happens... I just want to be able to sit here someday and surf over to the co. store's site and see a knife I want and buy it there for a fair price. I think this will boost SY's sales as well. The more product you have to offer the masses, the more people will get their hands on your work and purchase it when they figure out what a SY knife is!

So, here's a quick tale of how I got to the yard:

I loves knives, that goes without saying, but even though I would like to spend all my pennies on new ones I have a family and as I'm sure most of you can understand that's just not realistic. So, if I'm going to spend my money I want it to be on knives I'm going to love forever and ever and have no buyers remorse.

So, like the rest of you, I try to do all the research I can; chat on the forums, watch youtube reviews and read the blade magazines. I go to knife shops and talk to custom knife makers and make friends with other knife enthusiasts about what's new, what's sweet and what's worth our time. I know what I want, and the unfortunate thing is I've never been able to find it.

Then, several months ago I stumbled across Scrapyard.

Holy. Crap.

These blades were exactly what I was looking for, and that was before I even read all the reviews and saw all the youtube videos and so forth. They kick so much patoot I knew I had to have one.

And that was the problem. I mean, what company makes it impossible to buy their products? I honestly was pissed off. It made me so frustrated that I said to myself, "screw this, if they make it so impossible to get one of their knives I'm not wasting my money on one."

But a few days later that DM or DF or YG got in my head and I couldn't help but scour ebay and the forums and I kept coming back to the site and SY store to no avail. I would get pissed again and forget about it for a few days...

This repeated for months!

AAAHHHHH!!! It drove me crazy! As frustrated as I was, I couldn't deny the awesomeness.

So last week I decided to check out the SY forum, just to see if I could find a clue as to why I couldn't get my hands on one.

(Pause for a bit: I know many, if not most of you have SY knives and maybe it's not as hard as I thought to find one, but still, this is what was going on, so please be forgiving, I've repented!)

I saw this post by Dan, and after reading... pooped my pants. I don't care if I have to wait a few weeks, just to know that I'm guaranteed the knife I want because I've pre-ordered it... I was so amazed.

I wanted to say I know I'm crazy for making a big deal about this, but then I thought, look who I'm talking to!

Anyway, I'm excited to be a part of the yard, and I'm sorry I was so impatient.

Dan, you guys do good work!

Ok, I'm done.
