14.5 years in the Army Reserves. I am on active duty now at Ft Knox for a year and then I am supposed to head to Afghan for a year. I started of in communication (31R) but hated every min of it so reclassed after 1 year to a tanker (19K). The best MOS in the world!!!! "Tanker Till I Die" "Death Before Dismount"......ect

Active duty have been for about 4 1/2 years with 10th mtn. Div.(the coldest place in the world)

Well, I'm 8 and a half years in the Canadian Army. My trade is LCIS technician; AKA Land Communications and Informations Systems Technician. Essentially, anything you can use to send info over, be it phones, computers, satellites, microwaves, blah, blah, blah.... I'm the guy you call when you're having problems with it. My job never allows me to sit around for long, unless I'm on course for an upgrade on new equipment or such. I've been overseas on three tours, and if what they're saying is true, it won't be long before I'm on a fourth.

Could have, should have. My parents really wanted me in college and doing nothing but studying, so off to college I went. I was not even allowed to join the Boy Scouts <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> . So I am going to have to live vicariously through my kids. Off they go to serve their country through whatever branch they choose and the world through the Peace Corps when the time is right...

Hey, I'm not in the armed forces, and sorry for interrupting, but...just wanted thank you all for your service and honor in defending your countries. I feel inspired by a lot of forum members here, especially those who have served or will in the future. No matter the politics, no matter what the history books say, there will always be those who are proud of your service, and appreciate the freedom you fight for.
