DIY Jerky machine

"You can build a high quality DIY Jerky Machine for a fraction of the cost of a commercial heated dryer. As you may already know, adding heat to meat changes the taste and texture. The best way to dry meat is with cool dry air moving at a fast rate, which is what this machine is built for."

That's interesting Andy. We use a couple of dehydrators we have had for years. Problem is that the jerky smells and tastes so good that it doesn't last long!

It just kinda grosses me out though if it's meat and there's no heat involved. Cause if it's not heated, it's really just dried raw meat with dehydrated blood (scabs?) yummy... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

MEatVT - just think about the Scrap Yard logo, and how happy it would be with a nice fresh piece of dripping meat in its jowls.

Hmmm... this makes me hungry - think I will take a lunch break and drool over my new Scrapper that I just received.

I believe we have used Worcestershire and Soy sauce, as well as teriyaki.
