ever seen any articles about scrapyard knives in any of the knife mags??before i'd of rather kept it a secret as much as possible but with the new business plan everyone will get a shot at every knife.
what brought me into the whole busse family of knives was a write up one of the mags did on swamprat knives.the pieces featured where the crashaxe,M6 and one other one i believe.
although i had heard of busse i had never heard of swamprat and i didnt know they where related.i saw a pic of that crash axe and my heart skipped, then i saw the prices and really got excited.
i ran to the website and said "where the hell do i order the knives at?" like a lot of people do.
anyways it was that article that eventually led me here.
i would probably frame any mag that had any busse kin on the cover.
in the last couple months i have sold almost every other brand of fixed blade knife i owned so that i could buy more busse kin pieces.while the other where good they just werent as good and why not have the best or settle for second best.

One thing Scrap Yard does NOT need is to throw away money on advertising. That is for company's that can't sell what they make and have warehouses full of inventory getting old. Scrap Yard has NEVER had that trouble, and doubtful that they ever will.
And that IS the bottom line. Why buy what the others overcharge for when Dan and Scrap Yard keeps giving us what we ask for and what holds up!
The price to performance ratio here in The Yard is over the top.And now that Dan is going to the Busse "Featured Knife" ordering system we ALL will be able to score and NOT pay secondary market prices because the 2-4 week open door for orders lets you find the extra money for your new Scrap Yard knife!
I am super happy about this new way to buy and even more excited for the next mystery offering. That wondering is what keeps the topics here bubbling all the time!
I love it all!!!
Peace.

Actually it was the now famous dumpster pic ad that made me check out the Yard in time for the SS4 and Busse has ads every month.
The other knife in that Swamprat article was the M9.

Do most of you dogs ever buy or read those knife magazines? I just glance at them in the grocery store like I do the other tabloid stuff. Why does Paris Hilton hate kukris? Steven Segal shops at bud K? Was INFI a gift from aliens? Inquiring minds want to know.

I like Tactical Knives the best. Next time I see one, I'll buy it and check it out. I used to get Blade, but I let it expire. I saw Busse advertised in Blade. It was the ASH1. I don't recall ever seeing an ad for Scrap Yard or Swamp Rat.

Better quality paper, overall appearance.

shaolin is right about tactical knives. it is a good magazine. however, you wont see any busse products in there which is the only knives i have purchased in the past 2 years. between busse combat, SR, and SYKCO, i just dont need any other companies' products. i have no need for folders and what fixed blades i want, the Yard and SR and Busse have me covered. but in terms of knife reading, tactical knives is a cool magazine.

I don't read the knife mags for the articles, if you know what I mean.
I know, corny, someone had to say it.

I would rather read about knives on the forums from fellow knife enthusiasts rather than a journalism major with an interest in knives!!

I have been a faithful subscriber of Blade magazine the number one selling Knife magazine in the world for the last five years. I always re-up for the discounted two year option. You could have no idea how much I look forward to that third week of the month. I hawk the mailbox like a 16 year old girl looking for Tiger Beat...did I just date myself? Any way I could not conceive of life without Blade Magazine in it.
Besides the incredible articles on grinding, sharpening, forging, shaping, making Damascus, who's hot and what is new in the world of knives. LOADS of custom coverage in Blade and yes... all 3 Bussekin have had at one time or another FULL PAGE 4 COLOR ads!!!
Beats me why Dan blew a ton of dough to place his ad,I remember posting it here after I saw it and it was during a "L O N G" dry spell. No steel for sale as far as the imagination could see!
But Swamp Rat and of course Jerry have all had ads.Busse has been in the last 3-4 issues with full pagers on the ASH and just plain Busse Combat ads.
I could see The Yard doing some ads corresponding with a 2-4 week run of new blades to lend some strong new exposure.
Blade Magazine ***** Subscribe and look forward to something other than bills in your mailbox!
Peace.
