i'd pay the extra ten cents at county comm and save the month wait for shipping, while picking up a few other items.

You just HAD to link to deal extreme, didn't you.

The site keeps lightening my wallet.
It's almost as bad as this one.

Not a fan of DX. Been burned one too many times, which just so happens to be twice.

I've had nothing but favorable experiences with DX so far but my expectations are always moderated by the low prices. I don't expect to get a Surefire quality LED flashlight for $20. Expect the bargains to be a little rough around the edges and you probably won't be disappointed. Yes, there are reports of occasional DOAs but I've been fortunate to avoid them so far.

Hey are there different grades of fire steel? I guess what I'm asking is does brand really make a difference? I am planning a backpacking trip in a few weeks and want to pick up a decent fire steel...any suggestions?

I have only heard good things about the Swedish FireSteel. Picked up the Army Model from the Fehrman Knives site the other day, waiting for it to arrive this week <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> .
