Hand finished, even more reason for it be pricey.
I wouldn't say convex is the dullest edge geometry, I think edge thickness has more to do with it. Ban can get his Busses hair popping sharp, and I'm sure you can do the same with a proper scandi, but the convex is thicker (stronger) too. I just got a fresh mora and I'd say it's the sharpest knife I have (can't imagine how crazy it'd be if you touched it up), but it's probably also the weakest. And I know you know this, but REALLY sharp isn't ideal for general use, it'd wear down quickly.
give it a shot. even when it dulls from that "fresh off the diamond" state, it'll still remain sharper than factory for a good period before it needs another touchup, an arbitrary point at which it could possibly remain sharper than stock.
more than that, we're all sick fanatics who sharpen knives that are already plenty sharp purely for a love of sharpness. it's kinda like the way a 300 horsepower V8 ain't enough. gotta see what that intake will add...then the new pipes...supercharger...nos...
