There's an old saying, "Paradise attracts the serpents."

It's inevitable, even here in Eagle Mountain. This place was supposed to be an escape from the city, but the city bleeds it's trash and eventually you have drug dealers living behind you. I couldn't convince my wife to let me buy a gun until we moved here, and we used to live in the city! That's messed up.

We don't even have our own police, they have to come 30 miles to patrol our city. Really establishes confidence. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

so the system isn't all that bad.

i live a block from the police station. still takes them an hour to respond to a threat to my home. they do, however, please me now and then with the occasional raid of the thug house across the street. my corner was a drug front for a few years. one day i came home and a neighbor told me i missed a great show. police had just hauled off a ton of punks. it was a permanent change, thankfully.

although the thug house hasn't been cleared out, they keep to their side of the street. i doubt it has anything to do with seeing the large blades and fires in the yard or the imposing weightlifters coming in and out of my home.

tarwar stands ready anyway. at my desk or in bed i can always hear the front door, the stairs, and the gate to the back.

By the way Vic have you ever thought of getting some big mean [censored] dog?

You have the kinda space that any dog would love, they could accompany you on your hikes, chase away the Raccoons and take chunks outta the [censored]'s of any punks who dared to come round your house again !!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
