The exclusive tiger hide handles also add to the cost so you are not only paying extra for the satin finish. I think the idea of selling "one of a kind" numbered blade also appeal to some...
On the first point Mike Stewart at Bark River charges an extra $20 for cool multicolour G10 grips over black micarta (1855 bowie model used for pricing as similar size to NMSFNO). So the custom tiger scale material is hardly a super selling point!
The serial point is agreed- I have a serial numbered Wilkinson Sword Dartmoor knife, totally a safe queen (mainly because it's DF heavy and the DF kicks it's butt!).
Just for the record and to show I'm not (Jerry) Busse bashing; the only knife I can think of that would replace my S6 as my general carry would be my Basic 7 which TOTALLY rocks! However my Badger Attack would never replace my S6..
The NMSFNO is a very nice knife from what I can make out in the photo's. Personally I'd go for black G10 and desert olive combo then satin the blade grind leaving paint around the ricasso and grip to protect the INFI (and avoid having to polish out those darn dimples!!). I'd then wrap the grip in electrician tape and para cord to make it a nicer thing to use on cold wet days.. or when you have accidental encounters with live mains voltage!! Did that once, it's makes you jump! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
