Here is my latest - more of an ulu-inspired version:

It's 3/16" A2 tempered at 400F.

It's about 1-1/2" shorter than the others that I've made.

WOW! I really really like that!!! I've always liked little pocket sized choppers. They can be handy to carry for little chores, and that looks very handy! How well does it chop? Is there enough handle to allow you to make a good chop?

Great job! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Thanks. I'd never had a hatchet or 'hawk before I made these. I wouldn't think that they could compete with the larger hatchets out there. They're more along the lines of a camp knife-ish - similar to a PH or PR.

I haven't chopped with it yet, but I suppose that it will be somewhat less efficient than the longer version - it surprised me on how well it did. I'll post pictures of it when I do.

I think it would make a cool camp knife for food prep. It looks like you would have great blade control. I like it...

NICE,i love hatchets and i cant explain why but i really love MINI hatchets.

not to take away from yours but here's 3 i have owned.i sold the one on the far right which is a ranger custom.

i would say yours is most like the ranger and swamprat and i like yours better i think.good job.

the GB is a whole other ball park concerning performance.
