Ah...Balance...
I need some of that in my life right now...
But those darn ResC handles are still too narrow <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> ...

To me, I think the res-c handles are a great size. Same with Busse knives, I much prefer standard handles over the mags.

The S6 does have a really good balance to it, and I'm sure the SOD LE will be too due to the full flat and .25". The SOD CG might be a little front heavy, but that just means better chopping capabilities. Time will tell...well approximately 5 weeks to be exact.

How about an S6 with Magnum Mudder grip? I think it would be cool if the Yard put some kind of Mudder grips on the bigger knives as well. You know, like the mudder handled Bolo that Dan will be releasing next. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />

This could be a great thread. "Bussikin handle designs". It's funny you know, as I was just talking about this subject to another dog. And how I rated the Bussikin handles on the FFBM, Ash etc.
The Res C on the S6 size are so sweet, like a custom for me. The DM & YK are a little too small for my hands, although they fit well in the skinning position.
My Chopweiler is just perfect for me with it's sweeping handle. Great design!

Off the subject some. I just do not like the Busse FFBM style handles. Talk about uncomfortable. I did hear the magnums are better though? But I'm yet to hold one. Anyways, I didn't end up buying that FFBM in question, just not my style. Too wide & too heavy for me & my work, but that's just MO of course.
I was not impressed with the feel of the FFBM, IMO my CW eats it for breakfast in balance, feel & a practical camp knife. And I'll put my last $ that the new SOD will be the same, if not better than the CW.
Glad I got that off my chest. What we talking about again <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

That sounds promising. How do the magnums rate compared to the standards? Not a fan of the standards.

Well, they don't actually exist yet, but I'm sure they would be perfect. I am hoping they will be on the NEW ScrapYard BOLO!!!! hint hint Dan

Not a fan of standard sized handles as well. Hope SYK gives us more handle options in the future...

It depends on who makes it. For instance, Tramontina makes a great Bolo and you can buy them for less than $10, but there are others that cost $300+.
