interesting though on Swamp Rat making a new knife.. I might be interested. Not sure. I have purchased quite a bit of SR101 from the swamp and they are pretty good knives. However, I have been buying Dogs and a few Hogs from BC and I just seriously think that the Swamp just isnt in my line of fire at this point. THey are almost as high as BC in some runs and sr101 isnt nearly as tough as sr77 or INFI. I love Eric and we are good friends but I just think I am going to stay on the Yard. Maybe Im selling myself short... I just feel like I have finally found home with SY. Been here almost a year and I just think this is MY knife company. Period.
I cant wait to get my SOD. I think it might just be tougher than the s6... going to be interesting!

I love the Resiprene C handle and all but I think Scrapyard is ready for something that do not have a Resiprene C handle Either that or Scrap Yard needs to keep making big knives. That's where Res-C (and SR77) belong IMHO. For instance, I think a SOAK47 with a Res-C handle would make an altogether appropriate follow-up to the SOD. I don't think SY will ever leave res-c...LONG LIVE RES-C! SOAK47!!!SOAK47!!!SOAK47!!!SOAK47!!!SOAK47!!!SOAK47!!!SOAK47!!!SOAK47!!!SOAK47!!!SOAK47!!!SOAK47!!!SOAK47!!! If SY does come out with a sword similar to the AK, I don't care how broke I am, I will pick up a few.

Okay, okay, okay, I would be all over a Scrapper AK as well, but where's the love for a Magnum Mudder gripped Bolo? Come on guys, surely I don't stand alone here????????

Pair me up with a SY Khukuri and AK, I'll be ready when SHTF.
I don't know if you guys realize it, but the khukuri is one mean combat knife. That curve makes it so nimble and can change directions with a simple twist of the wrist. It'd make a hell of a chopper too. And the sword just because it's a sword.

I think the SOD will be one hell of a knife, but we must also be realistic here. It's not the ideal rounder like the Scrapper 6. The S6 does it all, from gutting, skinning, boning-out game, batoning, chopping, digging. You name it the S6 will do it. The S6's size is not too small nor is it too big. Again, I think the SOD will be a great great knife, but I do feel somethings cannot be beat. In this case the S6 is that knife IMO. If the SOD had the 6.5" blade it would be the same sort of deal, but this would basically be a S6 then , with some mods.
I just feel smaller is more in this case. The S6 is king as far as the ultimate survival knife that will anything & then some, all without the weight length some knives can have on the hip. But as a camp knife the SOD will have little peers. But as a trekking knife where one needs to do a variety of chores, the S6 has few peers(if any), including most other Busskin knives over the 6.5" mark. It's just how I see it men, don't take offense. I spend allot of time out in the bush living off the land at times, so this is my conclusion with knife size
338, it just rolls off the tongue.

Nice perspective 338. The SOD is bigger, no doubt, it will make a very nice camp/chopper knive.

The S6 is about the best sharp (once you put an edge on it..) pointy thing EVER! But the SOD will be a bit special too imho!

No doubt the S6 is an awesome knife, but I'm sure the SOD could do all the things you've listed and can chop better. It's only an inch longer overall and it's thinner, so as far as weight is concerned, I think they'll be roughly the same. But they will be completely different beasts, the SOD is the son of the dogfather, the chopping king in the yard, so balance will be higher. I can't wait for everyone to get it already so we can put it up to the test.
