Check out this post, I'm not saying a Scrapyard blade, Dogfather etc, would have escaped totally unscathed either but I believe they would have faired just as well and at a significantly lower cost !!!

INFI...Phhhttt !!! SR77 rules !!!!!

I agree that they would have come out with roughly the same results at a lower cost. What result is that,a damaged knife. Some things are better left to other tools. Meat/camp saws available at Cabelas for 25.00. Jus sayin!

Now that I read what I wrote, I agree that it does sound creepy. In that case, I will simply robe the SOD in cotton.

Hell yeah! BUT... SR77 corrodes much more than INFI! I've satined my S6 and got a bit carried away so I did the ricasso too. Bad mistake for 2 reasons-

1/the dimples and scars in the ricasso area, PITA to get out
2/I found brown powdery rust coming out from under the res-C grip!!!! It was about a mil wide and circular onto the ricasso. The blade was kept well oiled and always had a wet oil layer all over...

MORAL-

DON'T BUY YARD LE. Buy YARD CG then satin the bevels yourself. That way the black paint protects the bits that may/will rust and you still have a shiny, easy care blade. I still love my little rusty S6 though!

I have nicked both my DF and my FBM. It hurt me a little more on the FBM but they both seemed to behave close to same and FBM certainly didn't take any more effort to damage

No, no....Buy Yard LE and store them suspended in jars of oil...
Like how barbershops suspend their tools in a sterilizing solutions...
