INFI...Phhhttt !!! SR77 rules !!!!! Hell yeah! BUT... SR77 corrodes much more than INFI! I've satined my S6 and got a bit carried away so I did the ricasso too. Bad mistake for 2 reasons- 1/the dimples and scars in the ricasso area, PITA to get out 2/I found brown powdery rust coming out from under the res-C grip!!!! It was about a mil wide and circular onto the ricasso. The blade was kept well oiled and always had a wet oil layer all over... MORAL- DON'T BUY YARD LE. Buy YARD CG then satin the bevels yourself. That way the black paint protects the bits that may/will rust and you still have a shiny, easy care blade. I still love my little rusty S6 though! Rust sucks Paul but remember, even if the knife is rusted, the blade's toughness and strength is NOT lessened. it might not look as pretty but its still as [censored] tough.

The SOD(F) is a great mid-size knife, I have only resisted this far because of my Basic 7, without that I'd have ordered a week or so ago with NO regrets!! Meantime my much loved and beat up S6 is getting some t.l.c. So far it's had a wire brush clean, large drink of Kurust to neutralize the problem area and finally a coat of epoxy glue to form a permanent* seal (* assuming the tin worm is licked!!). And I'd still take my S6 over anything else I've got- including my Badger and Basic 7! Viva sr77!

Where is it you say the rust is developing in your S6 LE? Is it where the res-c meets the blade by the tang and water is seeping through?

My S6 was CG but I satined it as some black paint was off and I don't like black knives(!!). (It's a not freaking the sheeple thing, that and a not losing the knife thing..)
The rust was on the ricasso area where the blade meets the res-C. It looks like there was a small area of rust that has formed under the res-C on the tang. As the res-C and black paint should be protecting the tang it came as a bit of a surprise!
Still I've now dealt with the rust and hopefully normal service should be resumed!

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure it'd be a bigger issue with the LE model, which is why I generally prefer CG.

I am not really sure how "Scrapyard blades rock" when the thread referenced is about Busse Combat. Seems to be a faulty conclusion.
