A fortuitous, vertical drop on concrete slab is all it took <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ...

Hmm...Looks like part of the edge rolled...

Hmm...Looks as if some chipping occurred as well...

Hmm...Interesting...An INFI tear...

Yep, it looks pretty much useless now. You might as well send it to me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I would have, only that a few passes with a medium grit triangle, followed by burr removal with a fine seemed to make everything alright. Had to remove more material than I wanted to as getting rid of the tear was priority. Now to finish her off with some black and green to get rid of the profile scratches...

After a quick cleanup, yet to be refined and polished...

i spent last night putting new edges on a few blades and they came out completely perfect. my rtak2 is now the sharpest of my extra large blades and the estwing hatchet push cuts news print.

send it to NJ and i'll give it the HD treatment, only i'll leave the point on it. ZING!
