A small group of us met up today because Tiny is moving to the east coast for the police academy. I haven't known him that long, but he's become a good friend all because of knives. He's a cool guy and I'll miss him, and I wish him the best of luck!

We met up around 8pm and hung out pass 3am. Not to many pictures today, since we did a whole lot more talking then usual. But we did the usual 2x4 chopping and norcalblacktail brought some cedar and fatwood we chopped up and I made a couple small fires.

Here's my old DMCG vs the new tank colored DM from Knob Creek. Very big difference in weight and geometry, they are two different knives. The newer one feels more like the RMD.

The pile of INFI (and some other stuff in there)...we had more knives, but the table was supported by a trash can.


The last couple hours, Ban was spotting me and tiny how to touch up our knives knives. It's going to suck going from KMG to HF/Delta machine.

I think I asked this before, what does an AK run, assuming one could be found?

I have seen some on bladeforums between $800-$1200. I also saw one made of INFI and the gentelman wanted $5000 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />. Does anyone know what kind of steel the normal ones are made of?

Yeah, when I saw he wanted $5,000 I had to say a little prayer for him, he must need some mula bad or maybe thats what one made of INFI runs. Being a Busse I would have thought that all AK's were made of INFI.

When Busse released there AK it was sold for $597, but if you had an aluminum handle it went for a little more.

All the new ones are made of INFI and sold originally for $587 or so. The original AK was D2 I believe and they are very rare. There may have been an INFI version of the original, but I'm not sure.
