Thanks for that lads

CW is on it's way as we speak. I didn't end up finding the tip , but I will keep on the lookout. Once I do, I will run some pic's by Eric. Get his opinion, & see whether we need to post pictures up.
The main thing is, it's all sorted now. The knife is on it's way for further testing.

So am I Jeff

At first I sort of gave up on my CW, which was silly! Just one of those weeks I guess. What could happen did happen . Anyway, after looking at it seriously, through a different mind set, I would be crazy to sell off my Chopweiler.
I haven't had it long, but in this short time I have become attached to it. And lets face it, it's one serious knife!
If you look at the red timber I nearly chopped through, & if you have worked with this timber before. You would realize that it's some tough wood. Although I'm positive my new CW would take over where his mate left off

So yes, I wont be parting with new CW anytime soon

Have you got a big earth magnet? That's a fairly easy way to retrieve steel widgets that have wandered off into the grass (gravel, leaves, etc).

Been watching this thread with mild interest. I would totally not have called the tip snapping off like that. Yes it is the tip of the knife, but it's also pretty honkin' thick! I'm sure we'd all be interested in hearing the results of the investigation, if Eric forgets.
