excuse me if these are dumb questions but im new. do all SY knives have penetrator tips? does the SOD? will the SOD be a do all knife or is it geared more towards being a chopper? my old standby has been a cold steel recon scout carbon v. which has proven to be a very reliable tough knife witha very strong tip(i once used it to dig a hole). can i expect the SOD to be as tough? again im new so excuse my questions if they sound dumb. thanks, ron

Think of a Recon Scout with a wider blade, an integral blade guard, Respirine C handle (which is even better than Kraton), a lifetime warranty, and made of Jack Hammer bit steel that has a special heat treat so it holds an edge. It is like a Recon Scout, only better. Welcome to the yard.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Like Vic said! SR77 is stupid tough and the res-C grips are the best handles in the world.

I think I read somewhere that Res-C has been described as being like a truck tire - only tougher and more chemical resistant.

"does it have the penetrator tip?"

From the posted pictures, I'd say no.

Like they said... Super knife!

Penetrator Tip... hard to say until someone has one in hand...

I imagine the Dumpster Dan can fill in that detail though. What say you Dan?

I don't remember what kind of tip the other SY knives have at the time, but the I believe the SOD will have a swedge like gray DM, at least that what it looks like in the pictures.
