bodhi.
thin knives can be a joy to carry and very practical.
But there sure is some thing about a big thick full flat grind that I really love.

and... for the most part I would always baton and split for the best firewood.

ps: I wish we used metric too.

Not I.

I spent my working career using the English system.

When the world and I were young, the English used miles and yards and feet and inches. They used tons and hundredweight and pounds and ounces. They refused to submit to the tyrant Napoleon’s newfangled metric measuring system. Alas, the Brits finally gave in.

Call me a reactionary; I don’t care. I still measure by miles and furlongs and sixteenths of an inch, and I still call it the English system.
