As I think most people here would agree Rainwalker is the sheath maker of choice here on the yard. I would like to see Renee officially designate him as a preferred sheath maker.
What that should include is sending jeff the finished prototypes of knives before they are released to the general public, so he can get a jump on the orders.
Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms should be a convenience store, not a Government Agency.

I second that, I also think that the yard should provide a benefits package for Jeff so he can quit his day job and devote all of his time to making sheaths for us

He's making sheaths for all of you guys too? I was under the impression when I ordered my first one last week, that he would put all other orders on hold and dedicate 110% of his time to MY order until it was complete. Sheesh Dont tell me he didnt put my order on the top of the pile either. Whats this world coming to when you have to wait for a quality, handmade product to be crafted! Now where is my SOD!

From what I've seen of Jeff's sheaths, I think that it would be a great idea for the Yard to recognize him in that manner.
Perhaps on their order page, they could have a RW sheath option to allow us to purchase a knife from them and a sheath from him at the time of ordering.
Cheers

What they could do, is something like Jerry did on his site; have a link to recognized quality sheath makers, having a contact to Jeffs' E-mail and website there. Something like this. Jerrys' Sheath makers list Again, Dan could recommend these people, like Jeff, as recognized quality sheath makers, without being legally responsible for any orders put into these individuals. Dan would be able to suggest to SYK knife purchasers, but not be forced to deal in those peoples' business; this is better for both Dan and the sheath makers. What do you guys think?

Has anybody asked Rainwalker whether he actually wants any more business? I was under the impression that he was pretty much maxed out...

I don't think the purpose of this thread is to drum up more business for him (He'll never lack in that, IMHO!), but merely to recognize him on this board who he is and what he has contributed to the happiness and joy of the many good members of the yard. Maybe it'll make some more obscure members aware and cause them to want to get a few pieces of his work; fine, okay. But the real reason, I like to thank, is to simply say an emphatic "thank you" for everything he's done for us.
P.S. - I can't wait to see mine, Jeff!

Has anybody asked Rainwalker whether he actually wants any more business? I was under the impression that he was pretty much maxed out... i was thinkin the same thing. also, i dunno about sending prototypes...maybe early production units. also, 'small production' model is one of the things that makes Jeff's work so great. if this title will compromise the attention he can give to each piece, then i am emphatically and categorically opposed to it. of course, if he can handle it, i'd love for him to be able to quit his day job and be a full time artist. then he would also depend on a constant flow of knives from the yard for him to keep sheathing. a dry spell in steel here would be a dry spell in bread at his home.
