...merely to recognize him on this board... then we should just ask CO to give him a custom title.

That would be acceptable as well, maybe even better.
Good point Magnum22.
It would have to be something really cool, though. Any ideas?

JYD Leather Master? The Kydex King? The SYK Pocket Protector? The Leather Enscriber? Skin Master? Sheath Artist? SYK Tanner?
C'mon guys, what's a title we could give to Jeff Rainwalker, our favorite master of the sheath?

You guys are too much.
I've had to do some thinking to figure out how to respond to this myself. I can't imagine what Dan must be thinking...
I'm not sure that I see an up side for him or Scrap Yard by giving any special considerations to one maker over other sheath makers that make pants for Busse kin blades.
Scrap Yard has been a wonderful opportunity to me in a time when I needed to find a way to supplement my income out of necessity, as well as it being a way to continue to support my addiction to knives. I stumbled upon Scrap Yard close to the start and WOW... And although I've been making leather goods most of my life and kydex too for the past few years, I would never have thought then that I would ever be doing so much as I am now. I have made some great friendships here too and consider many of you guys like almost an extended family.
But there are other makers out there, some who visit here from time to time, and several of which have been making pants for Busse kin knives longer than me. I wouldn't want to have any unfair advantage over any of them. Believe me I know how that feels too. It's a unique situation that exist between the Busse kin companies and all the sheath makers out there, I'm just glad to be here and be a part of it.
And last but not least I love the knives!!!
Oh, Yea the names are really cool!
I actually kinda liked "The Lord of The Pants".
And busy?.... Yep, more than I ever could've imagined! It's still a necessity for me though so I'll just keep on keeping on as long as I can.

I have to agree with all the admirers and owners of Jeff's sheaths - he is truly a Master Craftsman! However, as Jeff himself pointed out - it WOULD be unfair to other sheathmakers. In fact, I suspect that one of the reasons we don't see some of the other sheathmakers posting here anymore is a little resentment that THEY are not getting the attention or business that Jeff does. I DO like the idea of Dan posting a list of sheathmakers like Jerry does - not showing preference, just known quality sheathmakers. It would be good for them as well as the Dogs in the ScrapYard!

i already posted my thoughts, but i just have to ask: who cares if it's fair? this is just one forum where Jeff has earned a lot of praise. I've owned four or five other makers' sheathes and handled a few more. none compared to my Rainwalker Creations. where are our photoshop fiends? someone whip up an "I ![[Linked Image from i.pbase.com]](http://i.pbase.com/o4/23/628123/1/54421958.heart.gif) Rainwalker" banner and post it so we can put it in our sigs.

"The Lord of the Pants"....great one Momaw...you nearly cost me a short circuited key board spilling my tea as I was laughing away...well I am with whatever Jeff is comfortable with...at the end of the day your "satisfied customers" are your best advertisement...and there are plenty of those on here...

I would also point out that we have other sheath makers in the Yard and they also do good work. I have had many requests to post individuals businesses (house painting, legal services, car care) political messages, religous missonary work and the like. I have refused those offers based on a simple fact that this forum is about the Scrap Yard Knife Company. With this said, I am ok with fellow Dogs making any supporting ScrapYard knife sheath recommendations but not having a list that could be misunderstood as an endorsement. Dan
