Most of my swords are in the 17" - 20" blade length range. I only have one that has a blade over 28" It just seems to work for me. OAL is usually 24"-30"

i vote for a scimitar with a hand and a half res c handle <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> it's the sword that evolved into the shamshir in the middle east & the USMC dress sword in the US

just proving how we are all the same <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

single bloke with big knife, looking for zombie for very short & terminal relationship

A Gladius would be nice.

That would be nice especially with a Respirine C handle <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

i think those res-c handles only come in standard formats. a special handle probably wouldn't happen if that's the case.

Use the Dogfather design lengthen the blade to 24" and the Respirine C handle to 12". Weight would probably be in the neighborhood of 3lbs. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Another vote to Gladius. Not too long so it won't be too complicated to produce and could be a decent sword for home protection.
