It's all about priorities. Collecting premium knives can get expensive. But think how much it costs to eat out nowadays. And even the meat you get in the supermarket has gotten expensive. Have no fear. Just in time for the holidays, I have the answer. Beans. Nutritious and cheap. All you need is a little salt pork or some leftover ham for seasoning. I like pintos, but to each his own.

Of course, they are great with rice, but on this stormy day, I baked some corn bread. I got lucky today. It didn't stick to the cast iron skillet at all.
