yes, my tan sod came in today. the first thing i did was compare it to my recon scout. let me say ive had my recon scout about 10 years and it has been an incredibly tough knife that has been used extensively and has held up fantastic. i do not regret buying it one bit and will never part with it. now then, after i tore open the box the sod came in and held the knife in my hand i was like okay, wow just wow. the knife is just fantastic. the handle is about ten time more comfortable then the scouts.its just made for my hand. and the blade though a tad thinner then the scouts keeps its thickness almost all the way to the to the tip where the scout tapers of from mid way.knife feels like a chopper.and seems waay more heavy duty.(and the scout is heavy duty).the blade lenghts are exactly the same at 7 1/2. although the sod's blade is much wider. there just is no comparison between the two the sod's just such an improvement i almost feel bad. if there is one complaint i would say that the space between the blade and the handle is to big but thats just for the sake of finding something to nitpick at. only big complaint is that i just bought one. [censored] it i need a dog father next. i cant see that i would ever buy another brand of fixed blade knife again.

Yep, get ready to damage your bank account. Once you go ScrapYard you never go back. Oh, and don't worry, you will be cruising the exchange looking for a DogFather before you know it. Then you will have to have a BDLE and a MPLE. Oh yeah, and no Scrapper collection is complete without a D-Mutt and an S-6... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

welcome to the world of quality cutlery where the blades are actually as tough as they say they are if not tougher.

welcome to this little corner of the cutlery world where the manufacturer puts their money where their mouth is with a no-nonsense,100%,straightforward lifetime warranty.

and welcome to a knife company who's bottom line isnt necessarily its
"bottom line".where quality and reliability are of the utmost importance and come before all else and is fallowed by legendary customer service.when a company does these things they usually dont have problems with their "bottom line"

congrats on the new family heirloom seeing how your new scrapyard knife will out last you in this lifetime and be handed down to your kids and theirs if so be it.

welcome to our family.your at the top of the cutlery food chain now.while you love the look and feel of your SOD thats just the tip of the ice burg.its performance capabilities will boggle your mind and its all due to the
"heat-treat voodoo" the busse trinity is famous for.its what keeps the other knife manufacturers and makers up at night....ha,ha,ha

the only other complaint would be the cheap sheath it came with no belt loop and the material must be some new space age synthetic.seems almost like card board.....just kidding.

i dont have a recon scout but i bought a $8 machete from walmart and some other big blade from ragnar was about $25. i know my sod will beat them all but id just like to see it myself and im also a knife geek and love to chop things or make things sharp.

I do not have my SOD LE yet, but I do have a CS Recon Stout, I'll take the SOD LE any day. Anyone want to buy the CS Recon Stout?

Hmmm....that doesn't sound so good....true <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> but not good. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />
I don't have the SOD yet, but I have a S6, and a DMDC, and have been crusing
the exchange for a Dogfather.....not good at all <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />

I suppose that the next one out will be a S9, so I'll be forced to buy that <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />,
oh and while I'm waiting for the Yard to deliver that one, I'll probably have
to pop for the Dogfather off the exchange, not good at all <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

And to think all of this started by me seeing the following picture of a Camp
Tramp then reading Cliff Stamps write up on it...
[Linked Image from i292.photobucket.com]

All I wanted before this started was a Camp Tramp. Nothing more, just that
fantastic knife <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> ...little did I know what I was getting myself into <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
