Heck, that scene in Goodfellas is a good point in case.

I had a little carbiner confiscated but the same kid let me through with a glass bottle. He even tried to take my photons, and even worse, let me tell him he wasn't getting them.

Obviously, the guy didn't know what he was doing. I can see a carbiner being used like you would use brass knuckles, but I think that you'd probably do more damage to your fingers than the person you hit. It's possible that you might be able to use it as a thrusting type of weapon I suppose. Now, that glass bottle would have been a must remove item. There's just soooo many possibilities for that one. I guess that the photons could be used to flash into someone's eyes to temporarily blind them. I'm surprised that he let you push him around like that. Was he like a security guard or something like that? Cheers

glass bottles are wicked. when i used to play music we'd have some fights with bottles. VERY good weapon.
that bourne fight sequence was rather good.

Yeah, bottle do the job. Whe I was in hs a friend got cut up pretty bad by a guy that craked a bottle then went to town on Dustin's face as he set on a curb--Dustin never saw it coming.

Your BRAIN is your best weapon............... Best post in the thread! OP - good topic by the way... I enjoy these talks.. Ice picks? a weapon or tool? perhaps this is indicative of the state in which you live.. I think TN defines an ice pick as a weapon... too bad i cant carry my busse pick out to camp with...legally.. but i do it anyways. i dont think its a big deal, as in im going camping. not to bust ice though. I have used my picks (RIP & NIP) to split wood and they work pretty well actually. but the brain is truly the best weapon of all. the knowledge of how to build weapons, etc (this can pertain to explosives, etc as well) is what makes one a machine of war. Not the tangible weapons/tools he carries. they can only allow said warrior to be more lethal, in many situations. thats why i carry the best - Busse Combat/Scrap Yard - when it comes to steel!!!

No kidding......... first time I figured this out was in a grade school fight. Back in those days it was " supposed" to be just fist fighting. This dude kicked- bit me- hit me with a trash can- jabbed me with a stick and threw something like a brick at me !! In other words- many weapons. My buddies wife is like that- when they get into it you best duck cause she uses EVERYTHING. Yes- many weapons and airport security takes a pair of nail clippers from you - Go figure I am amazed to see metal knitting needles allowed on planes. A small blade is confiscated, but go ahead and take the big metal spike.

You can have all the tools you need within arms reach, but if you don't know how to apply them, then they are just potential weapons for your opponent to use. Great read on that Reconseed

the most commonly carried improvised weapon, keys. Put a short lanyard on them and you have a pretty wicked mace type weapon, especially if you carry fifty million keys. After that I'd say a pen. For women hair pins, knitting needles, keys, pens, the whole purse, hairspray

For women hair pins, knitting needles, keys, pens, the whole purse, hairspray Hi gruntinhusaybah, You bring up a good point about the keys. This is a common thing to tell people, but I don't think that it would be very effective. Unless you were able to hit the attacker in the eyes, I doubt that it would do much other than to tick them off. I had a friend do that to someone in the bar one time. I wasn't there, so I don't know the entire circumstances, but he did say that he swung the keys at the guys face. Scratched the guy up a bit, completely ticked him off and he proceeded to beat the crap out of my friend until the bouncers hauled the guy off my friend. I saw the aftermath of my friends face, and although he wasn't seriously hurt, he didn't look to "purty" Better I think to hold the keys between your fingers and use them as a thrusting aid when you punch. Unless it was a life threatening situation though, it would probably end you up in jail.

Dodge keys make a good thrusting tool--at least my truck key does.
