How do SYKCO knives do in extreme cold? Do they get brittle, or weak? Break even?

I'm sure I already know the answer and I will most likely find out for myself soon enough, but I was just curious.

Yup- they break and fall apart at anything under 60 F. Terrible-they are just worthless in cold or even hot weather. They actually like ONLY rain.......like where I am on the Oregon Coast. We have openings here right now for SODs ( and others) that are in need of a great home in perfect weather for them . We are strictly non profit and only do this out of the goodness of our hearts. Mail it on down and we will send you a real nice " Thank You" email. (lol) Just kidding - these dawgs work ANYWHERE-Any time -Luck

I'll send it right away...

Oh, wait, do you want me to wait until the Rainwalker sheath is here?

I can only speak about temperatures down to about -40.

I have had absolutely no problems what so ever with any Scrap Yard knife at those temperatures. My Dog Father had been used more below freezing than above and it just trucks right along. The res-c is quite nice since it doesn't transfer cold like metal.

If it gets down to -40° in Hawaii we're all in trouble!! Besides that, I never heard of jack hammer bits failing in extreme weather.

I would say that -40 covers it pretty well. I have been in -40 (no wind) a few times and even -40ish with a stiff wind. The windchill factor was -70 or so. I know how that can make steel like glass. Only thing different is that Im smart enough to not be chopping or cutting anything in that kind of weather....
