I thought it was interesting and possibly knife related... I'm sorry to be such a wise guy, rvogster. I think the meaning must be that even with all the flesh, bones, mind, and muscle, you are not a man unless you have character. Just as iron is not steel, without carbon.

I've heard that silicon (Si) can be substituted for some of the carbon usually in a knife steel. I wonder what that means?
And if you're stainless steel does that make you a potential politician? LOL
